Mersey basin Campaign

The Basics

The Mersey Basin Campaign was a partnership organisation which covered two river basins in the Northwest of England: the catchment of the River Mersey, and, from 2004, the neighbouring catchment to the north – the River Ribble and its tributaries.

The Campaign’s work was based on three clear aims which remained unchanged throughout its 25 years of activity:

  • improving river basin quality
  • encouraging sustainable waterside regeneration
  • engaging individuals, businesses and communities in the process.

This collection brings together a selection of resources that aim to give you basic idea of what the Campaign was all about. You’ll be able to see our geographical reach and organisational structure, as well as a range of reports and evaluations that provide a flavour of our activities and achievements.
